Introducing Copper Mountain Card Kit

Hello!
Finally I can share my first Studio Calico projects with the January Card Kit Copper Mountain which will be available today!  Studio Calico subscribers can start shopping today at noon EST and the kits will be available for purchase for non-subscribers at midnight. I made 7 projects with the Copper Mountain card kit and the Spaulding Bowl add-on kit. But rather than bombard you with all of them at once I’m only going to share a couple today. You can see all my projects in the Studio Calico gallery or on my profile page.

This kit has some thin steel dies that match the stamp set, I used the dies to cut the shapes of the whale and the little splash from the wood grain paper and then I stamped inside the negative of the die cut.  I also really loved the look of the white embossing on the woodgrain.  I popped up the woodgrain panel to add some interest to the negative die cuts.  I also painted the edge of the wood button with white distress paint to tie it with the white embossing on the card.

For my second card today I wanted to paper piece the clouds included in the stamp set but in order to see the paper for the solid cloud I had to get creative.  I inked only the edges of the solid cloud stamp so that only the edges were embossed with white, it give a fun distressed effect and now the blue pattern paper can show through.

I did a little double stamping on the sentiment to create a grey shadow effect and I used masking to vary the raindrop lines so that they were all different.

I’ll be back soon to share more projects with this kit.  Be sure to check out the full reveal today at Studio Calico!
