Concord & 9th: Hexagon Designer Dies

Hello!
I’m back again today with another Concord & 9th Feature Friday. I have lots of cards to share with you today using the new Hexagon Designer Die so I’ll get right to the cards.

On these first two cards I used the hexagon cut out as a template to place my hexagons but spraying ti with pixie spray and basically using it as a stencil.  Once I had my colors in the pattern I wanted them then I removed the panel leaving just the floating hexagon design behind.  Then I added my sentiment die cuts to each one.

My second card uses only the hexagon panel. I created a rainbow panel to layer behind by coloring watercolor paper with the Karin Brushmarker Pro pens then adding water to make a brightly colored watercolor wash.  This is a quick way to create a fun background. I think this would also look good on large gemoetric pattern paper.

Next up I have another card where I used the hexagon panel as a template and then removed it once my design was inlayed.

I branched out from patterns to create an image, a lot like making mosaic images. I used different green colors to make a Christmas tree.  After I built the whole tree and removed the hexagon template I went back and added the red and blue ornaments on top of the green hexagons already there.

I used stardust Stickles to add sparkle to the card and cut the sentiment from red glitter cardstock.
One my last card I used the strips that come with the hexagon die to cut a rainbow of glitter cardstock then layer them behind the hexagon panel.  I found the best way to do this was to add dot adhesive runner to the back of the hexagon panel then add the glitter strips to the back side.  Once all the strips were placed and trimmed off I then flipped it over and adhered the whole panel down to the card base.

The letters are covered in a layer of glossy accents for some extra shine in the lower corner to balance all the glitter up top.  Be sure to check out the videos on the Concord & 9th website for ideas on how to use this fun die.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
