Hello! It’s the third Thursday of the month which means it’s time for a Get Cracking on Christmas post. Now let’s be honest I have not been cracking on Christmas this year, in fact this might be my first Get Cracking post of the year, and it’s November! (better late than never!)
Let’s review, Get Cracking on Christmas was an idea my friends Jenn, Cheiron and I had to create an opportunity to use our Christmas products throughout the year since around the holidays we never seem to find the time. We have since been joined by our friends Libby and Caryn, so be sure to check out their posts and projects too for Holiday inspiration.
Today not only did I get a project made but I actually have two cards to share!
Both cards use the Sew Seasonal dies from Concord & 9th to create the little tree. For this first card I went with a slightly non traditional color scheme using pinks and a dark teal green with pops of red. I stamped the background in shades of pink ink and metallic gold using the snowflake turnabout stamp.
I added gold metallic watercolor flecks to the dark teal panel to tie in the gold of the snowflake background. I added red sequin ornaments to the tree to coordinate with the sentiment banner and added a snowy “ground” of chunky glitter under the tree.
My second card is even less traditional but I thought it would be fun to create a rainbow tree. I cut the stitching holes on a die cut panel stamped with the Gingham Background. After adding the sentiment beside the stitched tree I mounted the panel onto a natural cardstock card base with foam tape and finally added some iridescent sequins for embellishment.
