I feel like it has been awhile since I have posted. But today I have a really cute and fun Platform Pop-up card to share that will to transport us to the second star to the right and straight on till morning. This Neverland scene was inspired by a piece of fabric. I felt like it was a new color palette I would not normally use and it was fun creating this dreamy landscape.
I liked the idea of Neverland without the traditional Peter Pan or the Disney look. I used the Mermaid for You flip flop and the ship from Ahoy Matey. Otherwise this card is all die cut shapes and images.
I used the stitched wavy borders to create different insert platforms for the box and the stitched mountains for the back most piece and the platform pop-up add on background piece. I started out with Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper to create the box then found distress inks to ink the insert elements to match the color palette I was working from.
The waves are milled lavender and dusty concord distress inks while mountains in the background are chipped sapphire with a hint of uncharted mariner at the bottom. I filled in the mountains with die cut palm trees from the palm tree border and painted a waterfall with some colored metallic watercolors paints.
