Little Biscuit

Today I wanted to share a card I made for one of my good friends who is expecting a baby boy in May.  When I first saw the Lawn Fawn Plus One stamp set I instantly fell in love with the little oven with a bun inside.  I knew I had to make a card for Dusty using this stamp!

A little explanation behind the card itself.  Dusty love, love, loves the color Purple, so naturally the card (and the oven) needed to be purple!  I have also given the baby the nickname “Biscuit.”  This came from a little misunderstanding, she said “this kid” and her husband heard “biscuit” and the rest is history, he has been “biscuit” ever since.  But hey we live in the south, why can’t there be a biscuit in the oven rather than a bun?

Inside of card & envelope

I also made this card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge #7 – Make your own patterned paper with stamps.  I used Jenni Bowlin Lemon Drops ink to stamp the rattles on the yellow cardstock and VersaMark to stamp the purple cardstock background.  The inside of the oven is colored using copics.

Supplies:
Paper – Bazzill Basics Cardstock, TPC Studio Purple Brocade
Stamps – Lawn Fawn Plus One
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark, Jenni Bowlin Lemon Drops, Soap Powder (envelope flap), Broken China Distress Ink
Other – Nestablilites Labels Eight, Cuttlebug Polka Dots Embossing Folder

On another note… I finally have my craft space set up, well mostly (ignore the few boxes remaining on the floor).  I definitely think it is an upgrade from my previous set up in my old condo.  And as promised I took a picture to share.  Mostly it is the same as I had before except that I have a new piece of furniture I incorporated and it makes it so much better! We didn’t have a place for the sideboard I owned from ikea so I made it part of my crafty space.  And now I have a window too…woo hoo!  There was a window in my other place, but the sun never came in like it does with this one.  I am loving it!  I want to get a bigger corkboard and maybe a small wall shelf for my jars of buttons.

Yes, Architecture nerd here… poster of the Washington Monument Scaffolding and a few models left over from school 🙂

I also wanted to share a few Penny pics today.  While I had my camera out this morning I snapped a few good ones.  She likes to sit on top of the chair in the living room like a kitty cat.  I think she likes it up there because the sun comes in and she really likes to take naps in the sunshine.

She is just so cute…but I’m a little biased. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  1. Super cute!!! The sentiment is SO cute & creative!!!! I love the colors too, perfect! Your friends will love it!

Your scraproom is super cute! I love the lanterns :D. Also, we have the same kind of dog ;). Is she a mini? One of our friends was giving ours (JJ) away when I was 9 mos pregnant with my daughter. After we said we'd take him I thought I MUST be crazy (a 3 yr old, newborn on the way…) but he's been the best dog ever! We've had him almost 3 yrs. My son loves him to death & my daughter (who is 2 & 1/2 now) always says 'mommy, JJ's my best friend' SO SWEET!
