Hello Friends! It is Fawny Holiday Week over on the Lawn Fawn blog and I am helping kick off day one with some fun stitched plaid ornaments or tags customized with a glittering monogram!
I created these ornaments or tags using the Embroidery hoop die. I stitched a plaid using three shades of the same color with white, black, and silver accent lines. Each one is layered with a stitched scalloped circle behind the hoop to in an accent color cardstock or glitter colored cardstock. I used Louie’s ABCs to create the monogram by layering a black die cut slightly shifted behind to get a drop shadow look behind the gold glitter letters on the front. Each one is finished off with a hanger string and a ribbon bow.
For the back of each ornament, I added another stitched scalloped circle and stamped a greeting and the year. You could easily add “to” and “from” if you wanted to use it as a tag as well.
I am also sharing my plaids charted with the colors I used for easy stitching. But feel free if you try this out to use other color combos as well.

Thank you, Chari, for these fun patterns!
I love the patterns you come up with and that you are willing to share! Thanks so much 🙂
Love the fabulous gift tags. Thanks for sharing your creative idea.
Thanks so much Chari for the great design for these plaid monogrammed tags. I have all my supplies ready to go and was just wondering how many strands you used for the cross stitches. I see you used 3 strands for the backstitches but wasn’t sure how many for the x-stitches.
Love all of your designs.
How clever of you and how gracious of you to share the plaid pattern and colors. Assuming maybe you used full 6 strands for the plaid since the backstitch is 3?
