For my first card I used the New Arabesque Medallion Stamp. This set has solid stamps so that you can fill in the shapes with other colors but I really wanted to do some emboss resist as soon as I saw the set. I embossed it in white then blended tumbled glass, broken china, faded jeans & chipped sapphire distress inks over top. I added some flecks of water so that the ink would react and create some texture.
I used some metallic watercolors to fill in select areas of the design and I added some flecks of gold & white watercolor paint as well. I finished it off with some sequins and a sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments stamp set embossed in white.
For my second card I used the new Summer Swirls stamp set to create a sweet and yummy card. I stamped a background on pink cardstock with pink ink then popped up my copic colored ice cream cones with foam adhesive. I also layered some silver thread behind them for some extra fun.
After stamping the sentiment in black ink I added some dots of pink metallic pen to fill in the background more and finally embellished with clear droplets.
My final card uses the same layout as the first but for this card I colored the whole background with distress markers then sprayed it heavily with pearlized water. There is a lovely sheen on it which is hard to pick up on camera but very pretty in person. I think this technique created an aged, faded look which is nice.
Finally I added a sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments set along with some white pearl embellishments. Thanks for stopping by today, the next stop on the hop is Yoonsun Hur.
