Lawn Fawn May Inspiration & Release Week: Cake Slice Box + Just Stitching Double Rectangles

Happy Lawn Fawn release week! All the new Summe products are now available.  Today is a bonus day featuring a few more new products that were just too good to hold until June. 🙂

First up is the Cake Slice Box. This new die is so cool! It cuts the pieces for you to make a little box that looks like a slice of cake. It also has elements to decorate it with.

I made two boxes and stacked them to make a tall slice of cake.  I also modified the scalloped lid to make it look like thinner icing in between the layers of cake.

My favorite part might be the sprinkles I added to the top.  I used a combination of polka parade sprinkles and nonpareils. I love the look they added and it’s so festive! I will work on a video showing how I modified this box to make a double-layered slice.

We are also sharing projects with the new Just Stitching Double Rectangles today. This is a die that adds the stitching detail with two lines of stitching but without actually cutting the rectangle.

I used the just stitching die directly on the card base as well as on the pattern paper panel for this card. The cute little bird and sentiment are from the new Birthday Before ‘n Afters stamp set.

For my second card, I made a watercolor panel then I ran it through my die cutting machine with the stitched rectangles at an angle before snipping them apart to create a fun detail on the background.

I just love this cake from the Birthday Before ‘n After set too. It’s so fun! I also added some of the confetti from that set to pull in the black of the sentiment strips.

You can see the two cards as part of the Just Stitching Double Rectangle intro video and I will be making a cake slice box video in the near future. Also, be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog for more projects!
