I have been anxiously awaiting the new Studio Calico/Hero Arts release for one particular stamp set, the Calico Borders set. For whatever reason the border of butterflies just makes me happy, so I was excited to get to play with it this weekend, as well as try out some new water brushes as well.
I embossed the butterfly border with black ink & clear embossing powder on watercolor paper then used distress inks and water brushes to paint in around the butterflies. I splattered it with some perfect pearls mist for some hints of shine. After my colors dried I stamped the sentiment using Versafine black ink and finished it off with some twine and pearls. This card was fun to make and I will be playing with these techniques again very soon I hope.
