Summertime Build-A-Cake Cards

Hello Friends!

I am excited to share today’s tutorial for three unique Summertime Themed Build-A-Cake cards! This die set is so versatile when you get your creative juices flowing. Cakes with any theme!

First, I had to make a patriotic cake since Independence Day is just around the corner. But truly, this tri-colored delight can be for any celebration in any color scheme. Red, white, and blue happened to be my high school colors, so think graduation cards or congrats cards too! My favorite part is the firecracker or sparkler candles! The stars with the foil fireworks behind them give a fun and festive look!

Next, we are headed to the beach! Jenn has already told me to put this card in a pile for her so I know it’s a winner! This cake features ink blending and splatters to add texture and a fun ocean feel. I love the new stitched seashells; they are the perfect addition to an ocean-themed cake!

And finally, I had to make a rainbow cake! This might seem like a lot of work, but I found that I could die-cut the stripe and stack it to get the perfect rainbow without inking or coloring. I used clouds and a little umbrella for my topper, which seems perfect because after the rain comes the rainbow! I also think unicorns and fairies would be an acceptable magical topper too!
