Spread Happiness

Hello!

Today I have a card to share that I made for my friend Tim who recently left town to head back to Arizona for PA school.  I had to snap a quick picture with my phone rather than my usual photo set up since I finished it up the night before giving it away so disregard the not-so-perfect photography.  ðŸ™‚

The monkey and his umbrella are colored with colored pencils and gamsol and cut out.  I used my craft knife to cut a tiny slit in the monkey’s hand to slip the umbrella handle through so it looked like he was holding it.  I stamped the map in a light brown ink to mute it down some so that the images on top would stand out.  The blue around the map is colored pencil and gamsol as well and I paper pieced North Carolina and Arizona so that they would stand out. I love that instead of “Good-bye” I could use a more encouraging sentiment.  As Tim travels across the country on his month long excursion to places between here and there I know he will indeed spread happiness along the way. He actually posted a picture of this card propped up in this dashboard as he started his journey. How awesome is that! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today.
