Retro Diner

Hi Friends,

I’ve neglected my blog for a few days, so sorry, it’s been a little hectic this week.  As many may know the most recent submission call for Paper Crafts Magazine wrapped up this past week.  I submitted two cards.  This is the first time I have ever submitted anything for a publication call.  I wasn’t expecting much since it was my first time and I only submitted two projects.  But I got a nice surprise when an acceptance email popped up in my inbox! One of my two cards was chosen for the July/August issue and for a first time submission I have to say that’s pretty awesome!  So I get to share my reject card (which was actually my favorite of the two) and you’ll just have to wait to see the other. 🙂
I’ve pretty much decided I’m incapable of making this little Lawn Fawn toaster any other color, I always picture it red! I used papers from Echo Park’s Happy Days paper pad to create a the retro diner feel for this card which to me is perfect for a shiny red toaster and glossy white salt & pepper shakers.

  1. Congrats on your publication! I KNEW one of your cards would be picked up. You are such an unbelievably talented crafter. I have to say though, I am SHOCKED that this one was not picked up! My heart skipped a beat when I saw it. LOVE. It's absolutely, stunningly beautiful. I ADORE it. Pinning it on Pinterest.

  2. Oh oops, I didn't read properly…they didn't pick up this card for publication? I can't believe it! 🙁 Well I'm glad that one of your other cards made it though 🙂
