Pretty in Purple

Today I have a card to share inspired by the current challenge over at Jay Gee’s Nook.  This is my first time playing along at Jay Gee’s but the beautiful college of purple inspired me to to break out some stamps and create.

I thought purples would be super easy, but I sat at my desk with 6 different purple inks trying to figure out the perfect combination.  This is what I finally came up with.

I first thought my distressing got away from me, so I flipped my card stock over and tried the peacock and background without distressing…turns out I actually liked my first side better.   Funny how that happens.  Also, I am super proud of myself for making a light box.  I have been thinking about making one for awhile but have just been lazy about it.  So last night I did it,  I think it improved my photos  quite a bit even though they are still not as great as some card photography I’ve seen around the block.  But it is an improvement so that is a start.  If anyone has any brilliant photography tips for photographing cards I’m all ears.

Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts {beautiful peacocks & flourish background}
Ink:  Distress Ink {dusty concord & milled lavender}  Colorbox Pigment Ink {violet}
Paper:  Papertrey Ink {plum pudding & vintage cream}
Other:  Stickles {stardust} Purple Gems, Clear Embossing Powder

  1. I think this card is gorgeous! I love all the background stamping and is that a glittered edge you have added? The bling on the peacock feathers is fabulous. Thanks so much for joining us at Jay Gee's 🙂

  3. I love this one. Last year I saw someone use this stamp set, and I just HAD to have it. I love peacocks. And you know what, seeing yours reminded me that I have NEVER ever used it! Can you believe that? I think I must have it hidden at the back of my clip it up where I don't see it. I will have to break it out and play with it now. Thanks for the reminder!

    I love all the shades of purple on this card.
