Merry Mice Lawn Fawn & Chibitronics Kit

Hello! Today Lawn Fawn is launching a very special stamp set in collaboration with Chibitronics! Introducing Merry Mice light-up card making kit, this mini stamp set is part of a Chibitronics kit that comes with all the supplies and instructions needed to create two different projects, including templates for the Chibitronics circuits.

I love these little mice decorating the Christmas tree.  I colored all my images by water coloring them with Brushmarker PRO pens.  I stamped the mice in Lawn Fawn River Rock ink, the stool in Crunchy Leaf ink and the rest of the images in Jet Black because all of these inks are safe with to use with water.

I colored the images with a little bit of color from the marker then blended with water and a paint brush. The background is created with the markers as well. I simply scribbled some blues on my watercolor paper then added water with a large brush to create a color wash.  I also added some splatters once it was dry using something new I picked up at my local art store, acrylic spray.  The spray made some nice opaque splatters and I’m looking forward to experimenting with it more.

My card features a single light at the star of the tree.  The lights I have are white, so I tried coloring the light with a yellow copic marker to make it a little less which and more star like. This is a great idea to custom color the lights.  It is not as obvious with yellow but with a brighter color like red or blue it would be much easier to see.

The dies in this kit include a tiny circle to create a hole for the light to shine through as well as a tiny star shape for the same purpose. I used the star shape to cut out the opening in the star for my light to shine.  I also popped up the tree and star with foam adhesive which lets the light sort of glow out the edges of the star in addition to shining brightly through the center.

The little push here stamp fits into the larger gift perfectly so the button for your light can be seamlessly incorporated into the scene.  I made the tree skirt from pattern paper using a small stitched oval die.
