Lawn Fawn Summer Release Week: Upon A Star + Stitched Fireworks

Hello!
Today for Lawn Fawn Summer Release Week we are featuring another favorite new set of mine Upon A Star.  I have always loved anything celestial and the little critters looking up at the constellations is just adorable.

For my card I heat embossed the stars on white cardstock.  I used clear for all of the constellations except the heart which is embossed using glow in the dark embossing powder (which is difficult to photograph unfortunately). I colored the sky by blending wilted violet, blueprint sketch and some chipped sapphire distress ink along the edges. I also added some water splatter as well as gold watercolor splatters to add more “stars” to the sky.

I colored the little foxes with copic markers with some white gel pen accents.  The grass is cut from Noble Fir cardstock with some forest moss distress ink blended onto the bottom.  I white embossed the sentiment to really make it pop on the dark cardstock.

For this fun card I created a watercolor background using wilted violet, salty ocean and blueprint sketch. I just dropped the color into large areas and let them mix together with the water.  After dry I die cut the new stitched fireworks and then traced them with some white metallic watercolor so they would stand out more against the darker background colors.

Fireworks mostly make me think of independence day so that was the inspiration for the images and sentiment I used.  The sentiment is heat embossed with silver embossing powder and I finished it off with some stickles on the hats and wand “sparkler” as well as Star gems in the center of my fireworks.
