Lawn Fawn Summer Release Week: Ahoy, Matey, Lift The Flap & Simple Gift Card Slots

Hello!
I’m so excited to finally get to share my projects using the new Lawn Fawn Summer Release products!  One of my favorite sets from the new release is Ahoy, Matey! I just think these little pirates are too cute and I am in love with the card I created! 🙂

I created a fun treasure map background by stamping with Doe ink on kraft cardstock. I hand cut the rough edges with a craft knife then inked the edges with Tea Dye distress ink and bent up the corners.  I love when what is my head totally works out on paper!
For my images I stamped them on Bristol paper and colored them using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and a water brush. I added some shimmery accents to the treasure chest using metallic watercolors from Prima.
For my second pirate card I repeated the same treasure map idea but with a die cut rectangle instead and I used the smallest Lift The Flap die to create three little windows to open. X marks the spot where the treasure is hidden of course!
For this map I stamped the images with Walnut ink for more contrast and used tea dye ink all around to create the coloration of the map with a little vintage photo on the edges.  The panel is cut using the largest Rectangle Outside In Stitched Stackable die.
I also used the tea dye ink to add a distress look the the cream card base. This helped tone down the brightness of the cream and made it match the top panel better.
For my final card today I used the largest Lift the Flap die along with the new Pretty Poppies die set to create a pretty thank you card.  I used distress oxide inks on distress woodgrain cardstock to create the background.  From the top left corner to the bottom right, I used fossilized amber, cracked pistachio, broken china, faded jeans and wilted violet. I also added some water splatters and white gold watercolor splatters for some added interest.
The poppies were colored by blending regular distress inks and then giving the flower petals a coat of clear Spectrum Noir glitter overlay. I finished it off with some clear sequin embellishments.

The Simple Gift Card slots fit this largest flap perfectly to allow you to insert a special surprise underneath.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog for more fantastic projects using these new products as well as giveaways!
