Lawn Fawn May Inspiration Week: Yay, Kites + Big Scripty Words

Hello! Today for inspiration week we are featuring two new sets, Yay, Kites and Big Scripty Words and I have two cards to share.

The idea for the my first card was to have the kite fly right off the card itself.  So I went with a circular card and designed it so the kit just touched the top edge.  I used the new cross stitched circle die to create my card base and ground.

I colored the animals with copic markers and paper and used some Let’s Polka in the Meadow paper for the round and kite.  I stamped out the clouds in Manatee ink and positioned them to float off the edges of the card as well.

For my second card I cut some small party balloons from various colors of cardstock and used Clark’s ABCs to stamp out the letters on each of them.  The stitched puffy cloud borders are cut from distress watercolor cardstock.  I inked the edges with tattered rose and milled lavender.

I arranged the balloons overlapping and popped the ones in the foreground up on foam adhesive and drew in the strings by hand with colored gel pens. The Big Scripty Birthday sentiment is stamped on Sugarplum cardstock and cut with the coordinating dies.  I love how these dies cut out the scripty words!  I finished it off with a black stitched frame and some silver star sequins.

Check out the for more projects using Yay, Kites and Big Scripty Words.

  1. Seriously Chari, do you ever make a "bad card"? LOL.( I think not!) Your work is always so absolutely wonderful and I totally enjoy them all! Today's cards are NO exception, they are both so stinkin' CUTE! Of course with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies, how could one go wrong? Just adorable!
