We are featuring the second half of the Summer Release for Lawn Fawn Inspiration week in June. Today I have a fun platform Pop-up card with the new Mermazing Mermaid die and the Sunray Background Stencil.
I used spiffy speckles papers for my background and platform base. This allowed me to ink blend through the Sunray stencil with a darker color to create my sun-rays coming up from the horizon on the background and down from the water’s surface in the ocean. I used Wild Honey and Carved Pumpkin distress oxides inks for the sun-rays in the sky and Salvaged Patina and Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink for the ones coming through the water.
I paired my Mermazing Mermaid with some older die cuts, the crab from the Palm Trees die set and the Palm Tree Border for the background.
I think my favorite part is the shimmering mermaid tail and sunglasses. I created the tail by adding patina alcohol ink to silver glitter cardstock. The sunglasses are from the Flamingo Floatie die set. The sentiment is from the Pool Party stamp set.
