It’s clear to see that I have finally used my distress stains!!!! I had two problems with my stains. First not knowing exactly what to do and second not having the right colors. I was fortunate enough to win the original set of 12 stains from Simon Says Stamp, but I could just never get a combination of colors that made me happy. I recently picked up 3 new colors that I think work well together and then used a technique that my friend Joy showed in a recent video on her blog. You can see her video post HERE. This card is a product of me playing with my stains and wanting to use a Lawn Fawn set that I had yet to get inky. 🙂
I clear embossed the background onto white cardstock, then used Joy’s technique of dabbing the different colored distress inks on top of the embossed image. In my card I used Scattered Straw, Bundled Sage & Dried Marigold. Once dry I inked the edges slightly with Pumice Stone so it would stand out against the yellow card base. The sentiment & image are from Lawn Fawn’s Clear to See set.
Thanks for stopping by today, tomorrow I’ll be back with a video!
