Today is the last day of Jennifer McGuire’s Inspiration Showcase class. I must say I have learned many new techniques in this class so it was well worth it. For those of you who missed it I would recommend taking the read-only version when it is offered. I didn’t make any cards during class using the techniques but focused on my canvas instead. First off I went with circles on my canvas instead of hearts because #1 I have a circle punch which is easier to use than a die sometimes and #2 I like a geometric look so circles went along with the 5×5 grid perfectly. I also went with purples in the top left corner rather than the browns Jennifer used. I just wanted to keep my canvas colorful and I don’t have a lot of brown ink pads in my supply. So here is my finished canvas.

Because I don’t want to bore you all by talking about each circle, I am going to answer some questions I have already received at the end of this post. If you still have any questions that I haven’t answered please feel free to leave a comment (if you have blogger set up so that I can reply to you by email) or email me directly (my email can be found on my profile).
Although I enjoyed Summer Card Camp I think I enjoyed this class more, it was a nice time frame (12 days) and was packed full of info. And now I have this beautiful canvas to refer to hanging on my wall. Thank you Jennifer! 🙂
Thanks as always for stopping by today. Hopefully my canvas has inspired you like it has inspired me!
Hugs, Chari
Answering some Questions:
I don’t have many stamps with solid images so for the backgrounds where a more solid surface was needed (like circle #5, #12 & #14) I used the Hero Arts Four Leaf Grid Stamp. It worked okay, but in some cases where kissing techniques were done it is hard to see the images I kissed. For the flowers on circle #1 & #11 I used 4-5 of the stamps from Lawn Fawn’s Petite Florals set. The embossing folders I used were Cuttlebug D’vine Swirl folder on circle #6 and the Cuttlebug Dots & Spots folder on circle #10. Since I went with circles instead of hearts for my main shape I decided to change up some of the embellishments as well, that’s why I used clouds in place of some of the hearts, it also helped tie in with the solid stamp I used on circles #3 & #21. I also added in the Moon & Stars on circle #15 because it kept with the sky idea and I thought the circle looked like a night sky when I finished it.
Thanks for your questions. 🙂
What a beautiful canvas and a great resource for the future. I love distress inks so I think I'll take your suggestion and purchase the read only version when it becomes available.
