Hero Arts February Release Blog Hop

Hello! Today I’m part of the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop.

The February release launches this Monday, February 3rd at 10am Pacific/1pm eastern. This month’s release has a fun set with Dachshunds called Birthday Paw-ty and I’m happy to share a couple cards I created with this set.

I played with my new Karin brush markers and did a little watercoloring to create some bright and happy party cards.

I embossed the images for a nice sharp look and then watercolored over them. I decided to keep the background simple and added just a splash of color behind the balloons and some fun rainbow stripes on the other card. I cut the watercolor panels smaller than a standard card and mounted them to black card bases to create some borders along the side and bottom.

These cards remind me of my sweet Penny. Big thank you to Libby for thinking of me and letting me to play and share cards with this sweet doxie set.

  2. Such adorable cards! I just love this set. Growing up, I had a dog named Penny also. She was part dachshund and part beagle. She was black though. My family has always been partial to dachshunds. My sister has two miniature long haired ones. This would be a perfect set to make a card for her.
