Hello Friends!
I am pleased to be joining in with the Hero Arts designers this month for their monthly release Blog Hop. I used the new a Rainbow HeroScapes stamp set to create a bunch of rainbows to share! 🙂
The first card is stamped directly onto the background, I set up my Misti with each layer and stamped multiple panels at once before changing to the next bow and color in the rainbow. I love the little sentiments that fit onto the arches of the rainbow.
My second card is a bit different, I used only the dies to create a rainbow of various skin tones. To be honest this is an idea I have kicked around on my desk a lot lately but never had the opportunity to bring it together. I thought these dies and the sentiments in this set were the perfect chance to make it happen. I cut the bows from different brown and apricot cardstocks and painted some stardust stickles at the bottom. I also cut the big cloud from felt which I think adds a fun texture to the card.
I wanted to keep the background very simple so that the rainbow colors stood out, so I used a pale blue cardstock and only lightly blended the top edges with speckled eggshell. I also added the gold metallic watercolor flecks for some extra shine.
While I was stamping my first card, I also stamped this card at the same time using distress oxide inks on kraft cardstock. I used textured white embossing powder to create the big cloud, I embossed two layers of powder. After embossing I masked the cloud off with a die cut and used some distress oxide sprays in speckled eggshell and peacock feathers as well as white simmer spray below the clouds. I think it looks like rain below the cloud line. I used one of the single clouds cut from white cardstock for the simple “hello” sentiment. I also stamped some stars and moon with gold pigment ink.
Finally I created this rainbow watercolor cloud while I was creating. I wasn’t sure what to do with it at first but I loved the look. I felt that with a colorful cloud the rainbow needed to be much lighter in color. I ended up cutting some pixie dust glitter cardstock with the dies and ink blended the color inks onto the end.
It looks like this glitter rainbow has melted down into the cloud. The sentiment comes from another new set, Paper Hug stamp & cut. I really love the mix of fonts in the sentiments from this release.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Below you will find the full Blog Hop list so you can find even more inspiration.
