Hello There Sequins

Hello!
Today I have a fun card that uses a die cut to help create a grid of sequins for the background.  I made this card over the weekend using a sentiment stamps from the Clarabelle add-on kit and the Wonky Diamond background craft die.

I used the Wonky Background craft die to cut some white card stock.  This die cuts a background that is perfectly sized to fit on the front of a standard A2 size card (4.25″ x 5.5″).  But cutting it in white and adhering it to a white card base I created a grid for my sequins that is subtle and allows the sequins to really shine.

I used Multi Medium in matte to adhere the sequins down in the grid.  This background die cuts 15 rows of diamonds to it was easy to evenly space 5 different colors of sequins to create a rainbow effect.   On this card I used the Color Theory Sequins in Well Red, Orange County, Sunny Day, Yes Peas and Something Blue.  I think this would also look nice with a more random arrangement of colors or a design that runs vertically as well.  I stamped my sentiment on a piece of white card stock as well and did some simple hand drawn stitching around it to frame it.  The sentiment is adhered down with foam adhesive so it stands off the card away from the sequins a bit since the sequin background is not nice and flat.

On a separate note, did you see the newest collection from Studio Calico called South of Market? The new collection becomes available in May but you can already browse the new goodies HERE.  Just click the “notify me” button to be the first to know when your favorite product becomes available.  Personally I am looking forward to the 6×6 paper pad, the star sequins and plastic star die-cuts and the Garden wood veneer.
