Happy Birthday Balloons

Hello & Happy Birthday! It may not be your birthday today but it is mine and I have a bright and colorful balloon card to share with you using dies and stencils with ink blending.

I cut big balloons from white cardstock using the Outside-In stitched Balloon Stackables and then inked them with bright rainbow colors using distress ink and the Hillside Stencils.

For the background, I die cut a white rectangle with the largest Outside-In stitched rectangle and made a pattern across the panel with the stitched bouncy trails dies. I taped black twine to the back of each balloon and then tied a bow at the bottom. After mounting the balloons to the background I trimmed off the overhang and pulled the tails tight around to the backside of the panel before mounting the panel on a Fog card base.

The sentiment is a combination of “happy” from the Happy happy happy add-on family and “birthday” from Big Scripty Words. I white embossed “happy” on Storm Cloud cardstock and “birthday” on Narwhal cardstock and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered them at the bottom overlapping the balloon strings. I finished it off with some clear sequins to dress it up a bit and give it a little bit of shine. You can check out the video below to see just how I created this card.
