Happy Independence Day to my US friends!
Today I have an American patriotic card to share but I hope that the ideas shown in this card can be used by anyone all year long!
The first thing I really wanted to use on this card was the Hot Foil Fireworks. I feel like they are an underused product but create beautiful results. I hot-foiled the fireworks on Blue Jay cardstock as well as Vellum and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. This allowed me to place them perfectly on my background.
Because the cardstock I foiled on matched my sky they blended in nicely and the hot foil is really what stands out. By also using the vellum I got a lighter “glowy” look around my red fireworks which just adds to the interest of the card. Of course, I wanted a big bold sentiment, so I took part of the Giant Happy Fall and used it with the number 4 from Louie’s ABCs. To finish off the sentiment I white embossed letters from Harold’s ABCs onto a blue die-cut banner to again blend in with the background.
And to celebrate the holiday all of the mice are having a holiday picnic under the fireworks. I used images from Crazy Antics, Dandy Day, and Whoosh, Kites! Check out my process and how this card came together in the video below or HERE on my YouTube channel.
