Get Sketchy!

This week I had my eye on a couple different challenges and decided to try a sketch challenge first.  I  decided to go with the challenge from the Get Sketchy Blog.  Here is the sketch…

Get Sketchy Challenge #70

And here is my card!
Polka Dotty Pear
This card was another opportunity to continue exploring the super cute My Silly Valentine set from Lawn Fawn.  Hopefully I can make a card with all the stamps in this set before Valentines Day (that’s my own personal challenge).  I had a few new things to try on this card.  Number one, a new boarder punch. I really love the small scallops with the tiny holes.  Number two, Glossy Accents!  I have seen this used but never had used it myself, so I got some and gave it a try.  I like the dimensional affect it gives the little pears, So Shiny!  And number three, Copics!  Since starting my blog hopping journey I have become enamored with copic markers.  I have seen many other papercrafters use these markers with beautiful results.  At first I thought, “what’s so cool about these markers?”  But the more I saw them sued the more inadequate my markers seemed.  So I took the plunge and invested in a few Copic Markers.  It is safe to say that I love them, and can’t wait to get some more colors to expand my very small starter collection.

UPDATE:
Big Thanks to the designers at Get Sketchy
for picking my card as one of the top 5!
