Get Sketchy #72 for Charlie

While lots of crafters are off seeing all the new goodies to see at CHA in California, I am here on the east coast wishing I could see it all too.  So thanks to everyone there who has been sharing the sights with the rest of us through your blogs and facebook.  It is keeping me inspired to create!

I wanted to make a card to help out with Britta’s card drive for a little boy named Charlie, which you can read more about here on her blog.  I don’t get the opportunity to make cards for little boys very often, and I find it to be a bit of a challenge.  But I did have some cute robot/space stamps I got awhile back to make a card for my Dad that were begging to be used again and I found this to be the perfect opportunity.  I also made this card for the Get Sketchy Challenge #72.
Here is the sketch…

And here is my card for Charlie

inside of card

The Robot and the Rocket are from a set by Recollections and I used Lawn Fawn’s Harold’s ABC’s for the sentiments.  Bazzill Basics Cardstock in color Rain makes up the body of the card with patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket’s The Boyfriend collection and shimmery vellum for the accents.  Other materials used are Glossy Accents for a shiny robot, Martha Stewart Glitter Markers, Copics, Cuttlebug star dies and Smooch Spritz in Sun Kissed and Vanilla Shimmer.

I hope my card brings smiles to Charlie and his family, and I pray for his treatment and healing.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, have a great week!

  1. I can safely say that this is the first time I've wanted to hug cold metal cuz you made him sooo cute! Love the inside, too. Gotta get those alpha stamps. Love Lawn Fawn, as it is.
