Get Cracking On Christmas with Colorado Craft Company

It’s the third Thursday of the Month so it’s time for Get Cracking on Christmas with my friend Jenn Shurkus! This month the kind people at Colorado Craft Company sent some stamps to play with. I got a couple of their Big and Bold stamps. These large stamps are great for covering a whole card front.

For my first card, I used the Big & Bold Vintage Santa.  I stamped and embossed him onto a piece of distress watercolor cardstock.  Then I dug out my distress crayons to color his hat, coat, and beard.  I colored the crayons directly on the paper and then blended them out with a paintbrush and water. I used a colored pencil for his face and glasses.

I stamped santa on a piece of masking paper and cut him out and used that to mask him off after he was colored.  Then I blended the background using Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough distress inks.  I also added splatters of bright yellow gold metallic watercolor to the background before removing the mask.  To finish it off I stamped the sentiment, added glitter to the fur on his hat, and glossy accents to his glasses.

My second card has the Big & Bold Warm Wishes Snowflake stamp set. I white embossed this large snowflake onto a piece of distress watercolor cardstock then I ink blended over the top of the embossing. I used Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Wilted Violet distress inks.  I added some water splatters and lifted off some of the ink to create texture for the background.
