Well, it’s the third Thursday of the month so that means it’s time for another Get Cracking on Christmas post! If you have been following along this year you know that this idea started with my friends & because we get all these great Christmas products and never seem to get around to using them around the holidays. So we decided to challenge ourselves to make one holiday card a month for the entire year. Our friend has also been joining us too!
This month I created a card using some fabric. I saw this plaid fabric at Hobby Lobby and I thought it would make some fun rustic ornaments if I ever got around to sewing anything. I have not sewn anything yet but did experiment with using it on a card. I covered a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of cardstock with the fabric, wrapping it around to the back and securing it with double-sided adhesive. I then adhered this fabric panel to a card base. Then I wrapped some Lawn Fawn peppermint twine around the card a few times and tied it in a bow toward the top.
I die cut a smaller rectangle panel from Lawn Fawn Kraft cardstock and also cut one of the new Outside-in stitched Christmas Tree stackables from Lawn Fawn in the center. I added a little bit of tea dye distress ink to the edges. The sentiment is composed of a white embossed “merry” on Noble Fir cardstock, cut with the coordinating die and a combination of stamps from the new Simply Winter Sentiments and Winter Scripty Sentiments stamped in Noble Fir ink. All of these new products will all be available on August 23.
