First Card Challenge!

This is my first card challenge ever, and what better way to start than with a newly created challenge blog using my new favorite stamps, Lawn Fawn!  For the Lawnscaping Challenge #1 I decided to make use of the super cute Winter Bunny and the Frosties stamp sets from Lawn Fawn.

The Challenge was “All About Snow”!

This was my first card using paper piecing technique and I just got my Cuttlebug in the mail yesterday (YAY!) so it was the perfect opportunity to make use of it for the first time too.  That is a lot of firsts but it’s a new year full of adventure (yes, my word for 2011) so let the adventure begin!

To make this card I used Bazzil Basics Cardstock, color Tropical, for the background and stamped Lawn Fawn Frosties with VersaMark Dazzle Frost ink (appropriate for Frosties don’t you think?).  I picked White Rice Paper for the snowy hill because of it’s texture and flecks of shiny fibers.  This little bunny got a new purple sled for Christmas, and a matching scarf too, made from Purple Brocade patterned paper from TPC Studio.  The tag was cut using the Tiny Tags die cuts from Cuttlebug, and the Let it Snow sentiment from Frosties fits on this particular tag perfectly.  And the final touch was some white flocking so my bunny could have a fuzzy little tail.  How cute!  The Dazzle and rice paper give the snow and flakes the sparkle of fresh fallen snow.  I love the way it all turned out, and couldn’t resist actually photographing it against the fresh snow that fell outside this morning.
