Christmas Countdown: Day 3 – Warm Fuzzy Inspriation

On the third day of Christmas… I found inspiration in an unusual place, my warm winter pajamas!

My husband says it means I have run out of ideas, I call it finding inspiration in unlikely places.  I don’t particularly like it getting so cold in the winter, but I do like getting to wear my warm pajamas!  And I have quiet the collection of pattern pj pants.  So that is where the inspiration for this card (and a couple others I will share later) came from.  Let’s be honest, as crafters we can see project ideas in just about anything.  So here is a shot of my Pjs and my card.

To create the panel I clear embossed half of the snowflakes on white cardstock, then covered it with worn lipstick distress ink, revealing the white snowflakes.  After letting that layer of ink dry I clear embossed the other half of the snowflakes and applied festive berries distress ink over top of the worn lipstick, revealing the pink snowflakes.  I spritzed the entire thing with perfect pearls mist for some shimmer (which the shimmer actually makes it hard to see some of the snowflakes in this pic).  I added some picket fence stickles to the pine cones for a snowy look and finished it off with a silver head embossed sentiment on vellum.

Now for today’s Christmas songs quiz questions…(I’ll warn you, one of these is a little silly)
5. When did I see those three ships?
6. What size were those Kings of the Orient?

And answers from yesterday
3.  Where would you find Reindeer Paws?  Up on the Housetop Reindeer Paws
4.  What did the cattle do to wake the poor baby?  The cattle are lowing the baby awakes

Thanks for stopping in today.  Thank you all for your comments, they really brighten my day, and I love hearing feedback.  Hope to see you all again tomorrow!
