Cheers to a New Year

Hello Friends, and Goodbye 2020!

It’s the last day of the year, a time for remembering the good things that happened as well as the bad. We have all had a rough year, some worse than others but hopefully there were still bright spots and glimmers of hope as well. For my family personally, we had a couple of losses with the passing of both my grandmother as well as my husband’s. I worked A LOT this year as well, both in architecture and at Lawn Fawn. I guess it is good I couldn’t travel or be social. I dug out my sewing machine and made well over 400 masks for family and friends. We had to find new activities and ways to “vacation” by getting outdoors hiking, camping, and riding our bikes more. Luckily we live in the perfect place for those activites.

So today I have a new years eve party card to share as we ring in 2021.

I really love combining new and old sets when I get the chance and today’s card does just that. I combined the bears from Den Sweet Den and Snow Much Fun with Making Frosty Friends. I also used some party accessories from Party Animal and Happy Wedding to help them celebrate.

The sleepy bear may have partied a little too hard. Let’s be honest, he is probably like me and didn’t even make it until midnight. I rarely make it past 11:00 without falling asleep.

Sticking to a black and gold color scheme I ink blended the background with distress inks and add some gold metallic splatters. I also used gold and stardust stickles on my images to match the glitter of my die cut sentiment.

You can check out how this card was created in the video below or HERE on my YouTube channel.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Thanks for being supportive this year and I wish you all great things in the coming year!

  1. Off to go shopping for some new goodies! It’s obviously too late to use them this year for New Years…but this idea would be so great for birthday cards too!

    • Totally! That’s partly why I didn’t stamp “new year” in my sentiment, it can be used for any kind of occasion where there is a celebration!
