CAS-ual Grad + Little Love Note

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous Memorial Day weekend.  I am, but a paid  holiday on Monday will put anyone in a good mood right?  Well yes, but especially me, because Monday is also my Brithday!  (paid day off is a pretty awesome B-day present) Hehe!  Anyway, I hope you all have some fun weekend plans going on.  Today Hubby and I went out and got some plants to plant outside our condo.  We also found a super cute red electric grill. We can’t have a regular grill in our complex so we were super excited to find an electric one we liked and we are really looking forward to cooking on it this summer.  ðŸ™‚

Before I share my card I wanted to answer a couple questions from some previous posts.  Many of you asked how I adhered the vellum clouds I created on the Whale Grad Card and the Bon Voyage card (which can be found here and here).  I used the Vellum Adhesive Runner made by Thermoweb.  I think it works pretty well when you are unable to cover up your adhesive.  I also told you all I used two Lawn Fawn stamp sets on my Bon Voyage card (which can be found here).  If you guessed Smitty’s as the second stamp set then you were right!  I used the brackets in Smitty’s to make the squiggly birds off in the distance.  I thought it needed just a little small something else and then I had that “ah ha” moment!  I love those, anyway, on to the cards!

I had lots of fun playing along with CAS-ual Fridays last week so I just had to play along again.  This week’s theme is Graduation.  I wanted to make a colorful card and remembered a card Britta made awhile back.  I liked her method of incorporating all those colors using only ink pads. You can check out her card here.  And here is mine.

I also wanted to share a quick little love note I made for my hubby, Matt.  I love the new Admit One set from Lawn Fawn!  Matt and I love the fair, we drive to the State fair every year for a little anniversary get away, although he does not like the ferris wheel.

  4. Holy cow I had no clue those birdies were brackets! Your a-ha moment was crazy great!!

    Both of today's cards totally rock!! I love the colorful stamping & simplicity of the grad card. Its too fun! And way to go on the ferris wheel!! You colored it perfectly and with the cardstock's color it really pops – I love it!!!
