CAS sketch + Sew lovely birthday

Wow it’s been a busy week around here, and super hot too!  I think we skipped spring and went straight to summer here in NC, which by the way I am not a big fan of.  Good thing crafting is not an outdoor hobby right?  Today I have two cards to share.  For this first card I tried playing along with this weeks CASual Friday Challenge #5.

I started out with an idea I really liked but I’ll be honest, it took me awhile to get this one together, and I’m still not super thrilled with it.  But I will confess I am a bit of perfectionist, so I am pretty critical of my own work.  So in an effort to grow, I’m sharing anyway.  I really love the Admit One set from Lawn Fawn, especially the ticket stamp.  I see endless possibilities.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Admit One
Paper: Bazzill Basics Snapdragon, Echo Park Summer Days Paper Pad
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark
Other: Copics, Sheer Ribbon

My second card for today is a birthday card for my Mom.  My mom is awesome, and deserves an awesome card for her birthday.  She is the family seamstress for sure, so I used Lawn Fawn’s Sew Lovely set to make a sewing themed card for her.

I also created this card for the I’m Sew Excited! Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Sew Lovely, Sophie’s Sentiments, Smitty’s ABCs, Bon Voyage
Paper: Cosmo Cricket Material Girl paper pad
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Rose Bud (envelope), Jenni Bowlin Spice Tin, Chicken Feed & Stick Candy (envelope), Distress Ink Wild Honey & Peeled Paint
Other: Copics Spica, Ribbon, Buttons, Spellbinders Nestabilities Lacey Circles, foam adhesive

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to stop by.  I hope you all have an amazing rest of the weekend.  Bye!

  3. I think that both cards are great, although I think that of all your cards. I understand, though, what you are saying in that you want to be the best that you can. Great way to embrace color in both your cards. And oh how I do not miss those hot humid NC summers. Thanks for sharing your talent at CAS-ual Fridays this week!

So, we were both getting inky w/ Sew Lovely this weekend ;). I'm a perfectionist too & I'm always so hard on my creations. I'm doing the same thing (trying to post them anyway) because it does help you grow… something we're all persnickity about, others love ;). So happy you shared it. Its nice to relate. I love everything you create by the way :D.
