Be the Sunshine

Hello!

It’s very fitting that I share this card today, it is rather dark and gloomy here where I live and shockingly cold for June.  Definitely gray weather, so this card serves as a reminder to me as well as others to try and be the sunshine when things are dark and gray.

I made a soft cloudy background using the cloud stencil and pumice stone distress ink. This soft grey cloudy background has been a slight obsession of mine lately because I think you could use any colorful image over top and it would just pop off the card.  Full disclosure I sat down and made a whole bunch of them one day to use for cards.

I cut the images from watercolor paper and used the ink smooshing technique with distress inks to add the layers of color and texture.  I was able to customize my sentiment using a mix of fonts from Harold’s ABCs and Riley’s ABCs as well as a mix of colors with coordinating inks.  You can see just how this card came together in the video below or HERE on my YouTube channel.
